Dallas-Nepalese XI was founded in the summer of 2016. The idea to create a team and officially recognize and register it was initiated from a group chat called Sano Sansar, which had 50+ members at that time. Initially, we started playing locally for fun at Pioneer Cricket Ground in Irving, Texas. Then, the club was officially registered and formed a team to participate in Dallas Cricket League as Dallas-Nepalese XI (DNXI).
Dallas-Nepalese XI became the Division E runner-up for the Fall 2016 Tape Ball Tournament in DCL and eventually expanded the team to play leather ball tournaments in the Spring of 2018. The first participation was in Division D of Dallas Leather ball Cricket League. We primarily participated in the leather ball league in DCL and the North Texas Cricket Association (NTCA) up until 2019. DNXI participates in more than three tournaments each year for the leather ball leagues. DNXI also organized the 2018 UNA Cricket Tournament that was held in Dallas, Texas. Also, DNXI won the 2018 NAC Cricket Tournament that was held in DC/Virginia. So far, the team has been progressing through the top division in DCL to create a name for itself as one of the strong leather ball teams in the league among 130+ teams in the DFW area.
DNXI wants to bring the community together in the near future, keeping sports as a base event. The team will continue organizing a cricket tournament every year and other social events that focus on the Nepali community in the DFW area. Also, the team will continue participation in DCL cricket tournaments and has initiated planning to participate in the NTCA tournaments.
